This house, located in a hardwood forest, posed a challenge, as we were restricted from removing any of the hardwood varieties that dotted the indigenous landscape. The number of trees severely limited our planting palette. To solve this problem, plants that required lower amounts of light were incorporated into the design. Pachysandra beds were planted with thousands of daffodil bulbs, which emerge early in the spring, bringing a bright, dynamic burst of color that beautifully weaves the architectural style of the house with the grounds. Several modern sculptures were requested to be added to the composition, in conjunction with a true "Cotswold" inspired garden.
